Celebrating 75 years

75 YEARS STRONG

Est. 1951  ·  Registered Public Trust
A legacy of learning,
a future of promise.

Every great story begins somewhere. For thousands of children over the past seventy-five years, that story began at Kampala Kindergarten Association

Our Platinum Jubilee
More than a milestone — a story of
lives transformed.
Our seventy-fifth year is a celebration of futures inspired, communities
strengthened, cultures instilled, and a legacy that continues to flourish.
It is a moment to honour the visionaries who founded our beloved institution, the dedicated educators who have shaped young minds with passion and purpose, the parents who have entrusted us with their greatest treasures, and the thousands of children whose laughter has echoed through our environment over the decades. Every child who has walked through our gates has become part of a story that began over seven decades ago — a story of hope, excellence, resilience, and love.

Humble Beginnings
Built on service, integrity, and community.

Back in 1951, Kampala Kindergarten Association was registered as a Public Trust — among the very first nursery schools established in Uganda. It was founded by a group of British parents who envisioned a nurturing environment where children below the age of seven could receive meaningful, high-quality Early Childhood Care and Education.

Built upon the belief that the earliest years of life shape a child’s future, the establishment quickly became an Association pioneering holistic learning experiences that encouraged curiosity, creativity, confidence, and character — principles the school still prides itself on today.

Nurturing the Whole Child
Education that goes far
beyond books and classrooms.
History often presents moments of change, and KKA has always responded with courage and resilience.

African parents assume custodianship

Following the departure of many European families, African parents proudly took up custodianship of the school, ensuring its mission and commitment to excellence continued uninterrupted — a transition that reflected the strength of a community determined to preserve a treasured institution.

Today

A distinguished institution, still growing

Guided by a Board of Trustees and an Executive Committee elected by parents, working closely with Management and the Headmistress, KKA continues to uphold the highest standards of governance, accountability, and educational excellence.
